The art of handmade rugs has been a part of Persian culture for over 4,000 years. Our traditional selections are of fine quality rugs are made in time-honored method, in wool on either cotton or wool foundations. When rugs reach seventy years, they are considered antiques. Each rug has its own individual fingerprint and as rug ages, it becomes more beautiful, refined and evocative of its history. Our unique rugs are elegant and would add a touch of history to any home. Our traditional rugs are from Bijar, Kashan, Heriz, Mashad, Nain, and notable cities throughout Iran.

Fine Rugs are outstanding representations of handcrafted artwork. Fine rugs are known for being finely knotted and have elegantly designed medallions. Most have a high knot count and are blends of wool and silk or pure silk. The fine quality of the materials lets the weaver do their best work. Silk is an expensive material and has been used for fine rug weaving for thousands of years. High-quality carpets from Tabriz, Qum, Nain, and Isfahan have all-silk piles. Silk pile carpets are often exceptionally fine, with a short pile and an elaborate design.

Tribal rugs are woven by nomadic or semi-nomadic tribal weavers. The tribal style rugs are most often woven in villages such as Turkoman, Baluchi, Hamadan, Shiraz and Ardabil. Tribal rugs can be recognized by their geometric patterns, as opposed to the floral motifs of city rugs. Tribal rugs mainly exhibit simple motifs of flowers and animals; the pile and foundation is wool and cotton or sometimes just wool.

"We have known and done business with Arman and Mona for over 15 years. We have found them to be honest and trustworthy in all our many transactions. Their integrity is above reproach. Their knowledge, expertise and excellent advice, has been a cornerstone in the success of our own business. The quality of the inventory they acquire and the service they provide is second to none! Arman Fine Rugs has our highest recommendation for any rug needs!!"

"Prior to visiting Mona, we had searched long and hard for a perfect tradition Persian area rug for our new home. I was so picky and being picky about this kind of rug doesn't help when all you see out there is either the wrong style, not traditional, or pricey AF. Thankfully we stumbled upon Mona's awesome gallery and fell in love with a rug. She was willing to work with us on a price since we had a budget in mind. We wanted to invest in a quality rug but not spend so much on something we might want to change later.Mona was very flexible and let us took the rug around the store to see how it would look in various lights and with different types of materials. She didn't pester us to make a decision and was very patient as I assume she understands that it's a pretty big style commitment to getting these kinds of rugs (especially as a virgin area rug owner). She even offered to send us off with a consignment, meaning we pay nothing, try it out and go from there. We opted to just pay but she said if we didn't love it to take it back so that gave us piece of mind that if we didn't like how it looked in our space, it would be a hassle free return. Another reason to do business here is she'll even take back the rug as trade if ever we wanted to change up the look or maybe go bigger in scale. Thank you Mona for all your help! We are absolutely in love with our rug and will be taking it to you when we need a cleaning. We will definitely be back soon if we decide to get a runner as well! :)"

"When I moved into my downtown condo last year, I thought I would have to knock out the unattractive tiled dining area floor. First I decided to replace the living room carpeting with wood, in order to establish some continuity and warmth but then, I thought, why not just cover the dining room floor with a beautiful rug. Something I could move on to the next place, rather than grabbing my pick and breaking up the tile. The only problem was that I already had a beautiful, but hard to match, Oriental rug I was using the living room. All the rugs I found were too vivid or the wrong style. Eventually, I rolled into the Arman Fine Rugs, where I became acquainted with Arman. I selected three rugs, which she immediately brought to my home. All of them were winners, but one was perfect and lives there still. Thank you, Arman."

"We were fortunate to discover Arman Fine Rugs. Arman and Mona love rugs and teaching others about them. Gracious and generous with their time. Nothing is ever too hard to find or roll out. We thoroughly enjoy the process. We bought our first rug and had it shipped to us by the Gallery. It arrived perfectly wrapped and we live with it, happily walking on art. An older rug needed some repairs and washing so I shipped it to San Diego. A few months later we visited our beautifully repaired and washed rug. We have bought several rugs and have never been "sold" a rug. Arman Fine Rugs has become a destination for us in San Diego."

"As a long-time Persian carpet aficionado and collector I have purchased and dealt with many Oriental rug dealers and galleries. Irate Arman Fine Rugs in San Diego as a personal favorite for many reasons. They have always been courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. Their prices are very reasonable for the high quality I’ve chosen over the last 10+ years. They remain a constant in the sometimes unstable world of "oriental rug shops" and can be depended on to have a large beautiful inventory and first class service."

"I enthusiastically endorse Arman Fine Rugs for their expertise, knowledge, professionalism, and perfected Persian carpet cleaning!"
